Billie Jean Coaster

You just purchased a handmade coaster filled with natural pigments.

Thank you!!!

A one-of-a-kind work, entirely handmade by Italian artist Copper Natura, that pays homage to Michael Jackson, the artist who revolutionized the world of Pop Music.

MICHAEL JACKSON – THE MOONWALK

This work, entirely handmade, captures one of the most iconic moments in music history: Michael Jackson during his legendary Moonwalk.

It was May 16, 1983, when Jackson performed “Billie Jean” on the Motown 25 television special. During that performance, he performed, for the first time in front of a large audience, the step that seemed to make him slide backwards without moving his feet. In just a few seconds, the Moonwalk went down in history.

“Billie Jean,” released in 1983, became one of his most famous songs and contributed greatly to the success of Thriller, the album that would forever change the history of pop music.

Billie Jean wasn’t a real person.

The story is interesting: Jackson said the song was inspired by a woman who claimed he was the father of one of her twins. The story deeply affected him and became the inspiration for the song.

But Billie Jean wasn’t her real name. Michael Jackson and producer Quincy Jones also decided to use it to avoid confusion with a famous tennis player of the time, Billie Jean King.

The song isn’t simply about a love story, but about fame, accusations, responsibility, and the price of fame.

Fun Facts

  • Jackson didn’t invent the Moonwalk: similar moves had already been performed by other dancers, but he turned it into a worldwide phenomenon.
  • Before his Motown 25 performance, Jackson had practiced the move by observing street dancers and artists performing similar techniques.
  • Billie Jean’s performance was so powerful that, after the broadcast, the Moonwalk immediately became one of his trademarks.
  • Jackson was famous for his obsession with perfection: he rehearsed his moves until they were extremely precise, even paying attention to almost imperceptible details.
  • His famous white glove wasn’t simply an accessory: it helped draw the audience’s attention to his movements, becoming one of the symbols of his image.

BILLIE JEAN COASTER MEDITATION

by COPPER NATURA

Take a few minutes for yourself.
Sit comfortably, dim the lights, and let the space become tranquil (lighting a candle will make the atmosphere even more soothing).

So grab your favorite drink but don’t place it on the Billie Jean Coaster coaster yet – just keep it by your side as you begin this little journey.

Start the music created by Copper Natura below, exclusively for you (inspired by Billie Jean herself but incorporating an instrument that didn’t yet exist: the handpan), and close your eyes.

Breathe slowly and deeply into your belly. Inhale through your nose, let your abdomen gently expand… then exhale slowly through your mouth, letting go of tension and thoughts.

With each breath, imagine gathering energy.
Let the rhythm of my handpan accompany your breathing and allow the music to carry you away, without you having to do anything.

For the duration of the song, listen, breathe, and let go.

When the music ends, slowly open your eyes.

Now you can finally place your glass on the Billie Jean Coaster.

Leave it there for a few minutes, then pick it up and sip slowly.

Let every little sip become a moment of awareness and pleasure.

And then… let go!

Stand up, move your body, improvise a few steps, do a little moonwalk, or simply dance as you feel most comfortable.

The energy you accumulate during meditation isn’t energy to be held back.

It’s energy to be lived.
