The Lizard king Coaster

You’ve just purchased a handmade coaster filled with natural pigments.

Thank you!!!

A one-of-a-kind work, entirely handmade by Italian artist Copper Natura, which pays homage to Jim Morrison, the poet and singer who made the history of rock music with the group THE DOORS.

Inside the coaster, in addition to natural pigments and themed colors, you can find the leaf of the Ginkgo biloba plant that surrounds Jim Morrison’s face. This plant represents immortality, resilience (it can live up to 3,000 years and in extreme environmental conditions), and beauty; characteristics that distinguish Jim Morrison, still considered a musical genius and, by many, a poetic one.

Some curiosities about Jim Morrison

THE NAME’S ORIGIN

The Doors were named after Aldous Huxley’s book “The Doors of Perception”. Huxley was inspired by poet William Blake: “If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite.”

WHY “THE LIZARD KING”?

The nickname comes from his poem “The Celebration of the Lizard”. It features his famous line: “I am the Lizard King, I can do anything.” The title became his ultimate stage alter ego.

A GENIUS IQ

Jim Morrison had an exceptional IQ of 149. He was a voracious reader who, since his teenage years, devoured philosophy by Nietzsche, poetry by Rimbaud, and deep psychology texts.

THE SHAMAN’S SPIRIT

As a child in New Mexico, Jim witnessed a tragic car accident involving a Native American family. He truly believed that the soul of a dying shaman entered his own body at that exact moment.

A FILMMAKER FIRST

Before becoming a rock star, Jim wanted to make movies. He graduated with a degree in Cinematography from UCLA in 1965. It was there that he met Ray Manzarek and formed The Doors.

THE “FAKE” ORPHAN

For the bio sheet of The Doors’ debut album, Jim claimed his parents were dead. In reality, they were alive. He had cut ties with his father, who was a high-ranking US Navy Admiral.

BANNED ON LIVE TV

In 1967, The Ed Sullivan Show asked Jim to censor the word “higher” from “Light My Fire”. Jim agreed backstage but sang it proudly on live TV anyway. The band was banned from the show forever.

THE 27 CLUB

Jim Morrison passed away in Paris on July 3, 1971, at just 27 years old. He remains one of the most iconic members of the tragic “27 Club”, alongside Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

Lizard king Coaster meditation

by COPPER NATURA

Take a few minutes for yourself.
Sit comfortably, dim the lights, and let the room become quiet (lighting a candle will make it even more relaxing).

Then grab your favorite drink, but don’t put it on the Lizard King Coaster yet: simply keep it by your side as you begin this little journey.

Start the music created by Copper Natura below, exclusively for you (inspired by THE DOORS)… and close your eyes.

Breathe slowly and deeply with your belly. Inhale through your nose, let your abdomen gently expand… then exhale slowly through your mouth, letting go of tension and thoughts.

With each breath, imagine gathering energy.
Let the rhythm of my guitar accompany your breathing and allow the music to carry you away, without you having to do anything.

For the entire duration of the piece, listen, breathe, and let go.

When the music ends, slowly open your eyes.

Now you can finally place your glass on the Lizard King Coaster.

Leave it there for a few minutes, then pick it up and sip slowly.

Let every little sip become a moment of awareness and pleasure.

And then… let go!

Stand up, move your body, improvise a few steps, dance like a shaman, or simply dance as you feel most comfortable.

The energy you accumulated during meditation is not something to hold back.

It’s energy to be experienced.
